Spring is in the air, which means many of the clothes that have been sitting patiently in your closet can finally come out and see the light of day.

But first, it’s time to inspect them and assess whether they need to be cleaned NOW, before you reach for them to wear.

A great first step is to get all of your washable items together so you can put them in the washer and dryer. Speaking of your dryer, once warmer weather rolls around it’s a good idea to do some spring cleaning of your dryer’s air exit vent —located on the outside of your house. Over the winter, it may have gotten clogged with lint. If this is the case, simply remove the lint so the vent is clear. This will improve the efficiency of your dryer!

Next, determine which items need to go to the dry cleaners. It’s important to get these items cleaned as soon as possible because any deposits left on them from last season need to be removed before you start wearing them again. Even if a garment looked clean the last time you hung it up, oils from skin, environmental elements or food particles may be present. Dry cleaning will remove these deposits, helping you avoid fabric damage and deeper stains. Please let us know about any stains when dropping off your clothing.
