In addition to keeping your clothes clean, Klinke Cleaners is also invested in keeping you, and the environment, healthy. That’s why we dry clean with a synthetic hydrocarbon solvent that’s virtually odorless, gentle on garments — and safe for humans and the earth.
Many dry cleaners use perchloroethylene (PERC), which is considered hazardous by the EPA. It’s so hazardous that California passed a law making PERC illegal to use starting in 2023. We’re expecting more states to follow suit, but why wait years for a healthier choice when you can have one today at Klinke Cleaners?
More About Synthetic Hydrocarbon
Our synthetic hydrocarbon solvent is non-hazardous and biodegradable.
We use modern dry cleaning machines known as “dry-to-dry,” which means the clothes go in dry and come out dry — so there is no solvent vapor exposed to the air.
Our machines clean and filter the solvent so it can be re-used. Even the evaporated solvent within the machine is reused. When cooled, it condenses back into liquid form!
Any waste from the machine is picked up by a waste disposal company. Although the waste is non-hazardous, we believe disposing of it in this way adds an extra layer of safety to our environment.
If you have questions about our hydrocarbon solvent, or anything else, stop by your local Klinke Cleaners or give us a call and ask. We’re always happy to help!
