Klinke's EarthSmart Systems is our commitment to using the most advanced environmental practices and technologies without sacrificing convenience, quality or customer service.

What are the Elements of EarthSmart Systems?

1. Klinke Cleaners uses hydrocarbon solvents that are environmentally-friendly, gentler on clothes, and leave no drycleaning odor.  The solvents we use are called DF2000, PureDry, and EcoSolv.

2. Klinke Cleaners has purchased new drycleaning machines for each of our locations that use the most advanced technology for maintaining and recycling our drycleaning solvents.

3. Klinke Cleaners disposes of the solvent waste using the most environmentally-friendly methods.

4. Klinke Cleaners provides free hanger valets for our customers so we can re-use our hangers.  If the hangers are not re-useable, we send them to companies that recycle the scrap metal.

5. Klinke Cleaners recycles the polyurethane garment bags.  These bags are re-used in other plastics.

6. Jennifer, Rich and Steven Klinke are all Certified Environmental Drycleaners.  To obtain this certification, one must take a course offered by the International Fabricare Institute.

7. Klinke Cleaners takes part in several community environmental programs including our Earth Day Drive.  Every Earth Day, Klinke Cleaners donates $1 per drycleaning garment cleaned to a local environmental program.  Also, Steve & Rich Klinke teach a Business and the Environment class at local high schools.

Klinke Cleaners participated in Take a Stake in the Lakes in 2003 & 2004.  We cleaned up Olbrich Beach and had a lot of fun doing it!
